Kentucky Wing NCO-Airman School, March 2010
Outstanding Turnout for NCO-Airman School at Wendell Ford -- More than 50 cadets and cadet leaders took part in the Kentucky Wing's first NCO-Airman School 19-21 March 2010. The school, organized and staffed by the Kentucky Wing Cadet Advisory Council, was held at Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center in Greenville. Cadets were split into groups of sergeants and airmen for training in leadership, customs & courtesies, drill and other necessary skills. 
The school also served as a prime opportunity to gauge the leadership and maturity level of cadets applying for staff positions at GLR-South Encampent in June.
Unlike a number of similar schools in CAP, the Kentucky NCO-Airman School was organized and taught entirely by cadets under the direction of the Cadet
Advisory Council. Cadet instructors and staff organized the instruction schedule and wrote and delivered the instruction modules.
One of the most rewarding parts of the school was the instruction of nine cadets as part of the CAP national Great Start Program. These cadets came into the school as basics and left the school as Cadet Airmen by earning their Curry Achievements.
In addition, seven senior CAP members and five senior instructors took part in the Training Leaders of Cadets professional development class. The class produced lively discussions on topics such as indirect leadership, reviews and promotions, and uniform issues.
